Two New Offerings from AskDrCallahan!!

Dear Dale,

Happy New Year! I hope you all  had a wonderful Christmas break - and hopefully a little mental break to go with it.

We are excited to announce our two new offerings. Both of these have been requested for some time - but we have just been too busy to make them happen. Now here they are!

First, is a course that is close to my heart - Discovering the Entrepreneur in You. I have loved business all my life. At least once a week I am asked to lunch to advise someone looking to start or grow their business. This thrill of creating something and helping people find their calling and make it work always inspires me. I have been teaching entrepreneurship to professionals for over 10 years - spinning off companies, raising venture capital, and having a great time! Recently we started offering some workshops at our church - and now we are offering this course to the whole homeschool community.

Second, we are offering a homework help service for ANY curriculum. We know, and often tell parents, that curriculum is a personal choice - one of the huge benefits of homeschooling. Not everything works for everyone due to learning styles, personal preferences, and goals. We are happy to announce our Homework Help Service. As part of this new service we will support ANY curriculmn in math, science, English, or literature.
No need to just bang your head in frustration - we can help!

Discovering the entrepreneur in you!

You might have noticed that our world is having some financial issues. Things are not as stable as we once thought they were. Yet - fact is, much of what we thought to be stable never really was stable. When you work for someone else, you are never in control of what happens. Over the past few years I have noticed more and more that people are looking to do a business on their own - or at least do something on the side. Some want to reduce risk, others want to have something the family can work on together, and many want to have something tangible to give to their kids. I have noticed this trend really accelerate with the recent changes in the economy. Many want to see a Plan B. Many are saying

What about you? What about your kids? Did you know that according to the US Department of Labor 50% of the United States' work force will not have jobs by 2012? What this means is half of our population will be independent contractors, freelancers, business owners - i.e. entrepreneurs. Do you expect your son or daughter to get this preparation from college? Don't count on it!

You are preparing your kids for the SAT and ACT and college - which might be important. But, more important than that is to teach them to earn a living!

Make an investment in your child's future. In fact - make an investment in yours!

Homework Help!

Homeschooling just seems like real work. Most parents say it is highly rewarding work - but work just the same. Meeting the demands of teaching along with all the other demands in life can be tough. The one demand we hear parents pulling their hair out over is helping their kids with tough subjects. The comments are usually like

"I cannot help her - I never took geometry"  or

"I do not remember high school physics - and Eric expects me to just be able to sit down and help him solve a problem like a classroom teacher. I could do that at younger grades, but things are harder now."

These kinds of comments we hear often - and we heard before we started AskDrCallahan. This is one of the reasons we offer free support for our products.

Now we are offering a support package for any math, science, English, or literature curriculum. We have on staff certified tutors in college calculus, English, literature, and a variety of college science classes. So we are ready to help!

Check it out!
